Course Overview
This 100-hour online synchronous and asynchronous course will continue over the span of two years. All coursework and practicum follow the curriculum set forth by the Orton-Gillingham Academy. Topics include:

morphology instruction

incorporating grammar
-
teaching written language skills
-
case management
-
working with complex student profiles
-
OG for multi-language learners (mll)
-
the reading brain
-
neurobiological underpinnings of dyslexia

Who Should Take This Course?
Participants must be Associate members by July 1, 2024, in order to participate.
Prerequisites

Associate Level membership in the Orton-Gillingham Academy

Bachelor's degree (minimum)

Proof of current background check (as required by the OGA) - a resource can be provided upon request

Computer with camera and microphone, as well as high-speed, reliable internet connection

Additional synchronous sessions will be completed throughout the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years. Dates are to be determined.

Required with this course is a commitment to the 200-lesson practicum, including ten observations by the supervising Fellow and/or Fellow-in-Training.​

Individuals seeking Certified Level certification through the Orton-Gillingham Academy may apply to the Academy after the successful completion of the 100-hour course and 200-hour Practicum.

Practicum Fee:
$3,000 ($300/observation, paid on a per observation basis)
