Classroom Educator Level
Course Overview
This 30-hour online synchronous and asynchronous course will teach reading, spelling, and writing skills using the Orton-Gillingham approach, a structured alphabetic-phonetic system that engages visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways to develop the neural pathways for learning.
All Coursework and Practicum follow the curriculum set forth by the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA).
Who Should Take This Course?
Classroom Educator (CE) Level Training is designed for general education (Tier 1) teachers. The Classroom Educator Level practitioner is certified by the OGA to provide and adapt literacy instruction for small groups needing supplemental support in reading, spelling, and written language skills.

Required with this course is a commitment to the 50-lesson practicum, including 5 observations by the supervising Fellow and/or Fellow-in-Training​
Practicum
50 sessions of small group instruction with 5 observations via Zoom over a
minimum of 8 consecutive months. ​
Lesson Duration Options:
a. Option 1: Minimum of 40-60 minutes twice per weed on nonconsecutive days of
a complete OG lesson plan
b. Option 2: Minimum of 30 minutes four times per week to equal two complete
OG lessons​​

$1,500 ($300/observation, paid on a per observation basis)
